On April 12, 2014, we are holding our annual Greek Preview Day, a daylong orientation program, which provides an opportunity for UNT’s incoming freshmen and transfer students to create a connection to the university community prior to the start of classes. This orientation is also designed to expose current non-Greek UNT students to the benefits of membership in a Greek organization.
Students will come to the Business Leadership Building on April 12, check in, and then will get to explore a council organization fair with representatives from each of our 4 governing Greek Councils as well as meet and greet sessions to learn more about each of the 4 councils Following the council fair, students will attend a welcome session and form into a peer group for the day guided by one our Greek Ambassadors. Specialized break-out sessions will begin after the welcome session. After a tour of on-campus Greek housing and organization fair of all our chapters on campus, students and parents are invited to attend a tailgate and the annual spring Green and White football game. Attending the tailgate and football game provides a unique opportunity for the community to support athletics and expose incoming students to Mean Green spirit. It is also our intention to expose them to many things that Denton has to offer our incoming students and their families. It will be a day full of fun activity!
The University of North Texas Greek Life Office has been dedicated to creating opportunities for campus involvement for students since 1952. Membership in one of UNT’s 41 Greek organizations provides invaluable experiences for those members as they embark upon their educational journey as undergraduate students. Sorority and Fraternity members are provided opportunities for growth in areas such as: leadership development, academic achievement, community service, and friendship. Individuals involved in the Greek community discover a place that not only allows them to flourish personally, but where they can also be involved in promoting the good of the university through connections with other campus organizations and the Denton community.
Admitted and current students and their family members can attend the event.
Registration for the event is free of charge for students and their family members.
